Therapy with Emily
Individual therapy for adults, adolescents, and couples who are ready to go somewhere the talking hasn't gone yet.
I’m glad you’re here!
You are the expert of your experiences.
I work with adolescents, adults, and couples who are navigating the complexities, challenges, and unexpected twists that life can bring. Before I was a therapist, I led multi-week backpacking expeditions, and coached high school Nordic skiing. Both these experiences brought myself and others challenges to overcome, which fostered increase self-trust, and connection to others. Change and challenges are not always fun, but what comes from these moments can bring us closer to ourselves and understanding what we want out of this life.
What therapy with me looks like:
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, person-centered, strengths-based, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert of your experience. I want to understand what has brought you here, what you’re experiencing, and where you hope to go from here. Together, let's create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported as you connect with your most authentic self. I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based approaches that fit your needs. My office is a space where it’s okay to share the hard parts of life—the things that make you want to shout, cry, swear, or laugh. Because sometimes humor really is the best medicine.
How It Works
Send me a message. You don't need to have anything figured out first.
01.
Reach Out
We spend 15 to 20 minutes talking. You get a sense of me. I get a sense of where you are. We figure out together if this is the right fit.
02.
03.
Free Consultation
A conversation. No questionnaires, no checklist. Just an honest look at where you are and what you want to work on.
04.
First Session
50 minute sessions built around what you bring in. The approach shifts depending on what the work calls for that day.
Ongoing Work
Something Starts to Shift
05.
Not all at once. Not linearly. But the relationship to the thing changes. That's what we're working toward.
A note on the process:
Therapy doesn’t have to be about fixing or changing who you are. Sometimes it’s about slowing down, getting curious, making sense of what you’ve been through, and creating space to interact with and learn more about yourself.
